Hawaii Electric Light Company is deeply committed to supporting the community it serves.  To accomplish this HELCO promotes: 

  • Employee involvement in company-sponsored community projects and participation in community organizations.
  • Monetary, personnel and program support for three designated priority areas: Education, Family and the Environment.  See our "Teachers Resource" and "Renewable Energy" sections for more information.
  • "HELCO In Our Community" events to promote energy efficiency and electrical safety at community neighborhood programs and community events.   Our "Safety and Emergency" section provides key information about being safe during a power outage, disaster or storm.
